Designed by Design Associates Nakamura, Two Houses in Minamirinkan is a 2021 residential project of two houses for sale. Located in Kanagawa, Japan, these houses are designed by using a lot of wood for their interior materials and also furniture.

Materials

Besides the interior materials, wood elements also come from the house furniture. These wood elements are in different colors, creating a warm living space inside the house with different characters. The wood character is also presented outside the house: a wooden fence.

Design

These houses are divides into small volumes of roofs to harmonize with the Kanagawa city and each of these roofs has a slope direction that changed to harmonize with the townscape. The exterior walls’ unevenness can change the expression and create different shadows too.

With these houses, the architect can give an impression of being two integrated volumes. The wood materials also become the highlight to create a special character to the inside and outside area of the house.
