Completed in 2020 by FMD Architects, Coopworth is a contemporary interpretation of a country farmhouse located in the rural surrounds of Bruny Island, Tasmania. With awesome views of the water and mountain ranges beyond, this farmhouse is designed to accommodate two principal occupants.
Site
An ever-changing landscape is provided by the weathering red lead shacks dotted over the island, including the awesome views of the mountain and water. It is a farmhouse where its occupants can enjoy the amazing views and beautiful nature.
Design
This farmhouse is designed with a footprint that is constrained to maximize arable land, maintaining generosity in its thoughtful internal arrangement as well. It is also a house that can be opened up to host friends and family through Australian verandah sleepouts and caravan bunk beds’ creative interpretations.
Details
Pushed to the edge of the floorplate, the frameless windows can embrace wild rains and winds. The wooden structure can be seen clearly inside the house, beautifying the surface of the walls and ceilings. In the bathroom, this wooden element is combined with bricks.
