In 2008, Stephen Fletcher Architects were commissioned to transform a large Victorian semi-detached property in West Hampstead. Parsifal Road had been converted into flats in 1947 and now it becomes a comfortable family house with a small self-contained basement flat.
Design
This large Victorian semi-detached property is transformed back into a family house. This transformation is completed with a small self-contained basement flat. From the outside, this house looks inviting. From the inside, the welcoming spaces offer a comfortable and elegant appearance in white.
Structure
Restoration and cleaning of the brickwork and terracotta detailing are also involved in the work to the front elevation of this house. At the lower levels, some new windows are inserted to frame the beautiful views outside.
Details
The interior of this house is dominated in white and beautified by some strong black and brown accents. The wooden floors provide a warm atmosphere while the striped pattern on the bathroom wall can beautify the shower and toilet area.
