Situated in the rolling foothills south of Calgary, De Winton, Canada, Modern Farmhouse is inspired by the humble materials of the adjacent working ranch and simple lines, especially for its architecture. It is a 2019 project by Alloy Homes with 2415 sqft in size and the awesome relationship between the building and its surroundings.
Design
The simple lines and humble materials are used as the main inspirations to design this farmhouse. The building is designed to highlight some different aspects of landscape when people approach this home then move through its beautiful interior spaces. The interior is warm and soft, dominated by the white look on its wall, ceiling, and furniture.
Relationship
The architect also reveals the awesome story of the relationship between the building and its surroundings with delightful framed views. People can enjoy stunning views to the hills beyond until they enter the dramatic Great Room. These views can be seen clearly through the glass door and windows around the home.
Landscape
Located in the rolling foothills means this home can have a lot of advantages from its site, especially the landscape. The green plains and beautiful hills able to turn this home into a perfect place to relax and enjoy nature. The dark exterior look makes this home can be recognized easily as a unique living place.
