With over four levels, Avenir offers luxury apartments located at Hawthorn East, Victoria. It is a new building owned by Cutting Edge Developments with interesting roof forms, bay windows, and deep blue translucent glass designed by Jackson Clements Burrows Architects. The building structure and all its elements can remind the exuberance of the Queen Anne period, creating a unique apartment look as well.
Architecture
An assemblage of alternating projecting forms is a comprehension about an architectural response with aims to create a sculptural object, sitting within the surrounding context comfortably. And for Avenir, some of the design inspirations are taken from the suburb’s Edwardian past cue as a formal response that can be considered of the Queen Anne period exuberance abstraction.
Design
Avenir is an assemblage composed of projecting and overlapping bay windows. Picturesque playfulness and complex roof forms can be recalled with these elements that are typical of that period of time. An accent color to the projecting window forms is provided by the deep blue translucent glass which is also recalling the past decorative stained glass and act as Louvre blades for ventilation at the same time.
Details
It is a new building with 33 two and three-bedroom luxury apartments, scattered in over four levels. Surrounded by a high and big wall at the outside, these apartments stand out with its flat roofs, big bay windows, and strong color. The elegant side comes from a deep blue translucent glass of the windows in each apartment.
