Opened by four young chefs, BIRCH is a restaurant located in the center of St. Petersburg. It is a restaurant of author’s cuisine with a modern interior designed by DA. Design & Architecture in 2018. The idea is about creating a place with simple and affordable haute cuisine where people can feel relaxed and comfortable at the same time.
Details
This restaurant has two halls. The first hall is an open hall for everyone while the second hall is a secret hall for the guests with an open kitchen. The guest in this secret hall can order a special menu that only offered by the restaurant chef. The name of this restaurant comes from a Russian which is associated with a local foodstuff, Birch.
Interior
The modern interior of this awesome restaurant is designed with a combination of two basic interior materials. They are stainless steel and light wood. Those materials are used because of the aesthetic result that can be created, especially for the restaurant cuisines. The background comes from the plaster surface of the walls.
Rooms
All rooms are designed in a cozier and warmer atmosphere using those two basic materials. The wood dominates the interior while the steel emphasizing the interior details. The birch grove image is created, surrounding the hall. In this hall, there is a large chef-table that can be used by the chefs to hold master classes.
Feature
Besides the modern interior and its two basic materials, there is also another interesting feature from this restaurant. The chef can serve the guests personally, adding more finishing touches as the show element to the dish. This service is supported by the seats semi-bar style, so the guests can have the same level of the faces with the chefs while they are cooking.
Furniture
This restaurant has some tables for 2 or 4 with an elongated shape. There is also a free space near the table, space for the chief to serve the dish and telling the guests about it. In the kitchen, the modern interior design is dominated by tiles and stainless steel. This kitchen is open, allowing the guests to see the cooking processes from the beginning.
