In 2015, HAO DESIGN has a project to make home life feels fun. Inspired by a creative toy called Lego, the Lego Play Pond becomes a unique home with a contemporary interior and some imaginative spaces. All elements are combined to create a great visual appeal, especially using countless colors.
Concept
The main concept of this home is the “magical island” in the middle of the room. It can bring great childhood memories to life for everyone who sees it. This “island” is located in front of the kitchen, allowing the parent to keep watch their young son when he plays in it.
Interior
The Lego Play Pond interior is full of color. The contemporary interior is designed detailed with the colorful Lego and furniture. Every bright color is used to create a fun space in every room which is matched with the concrete floor and wall.
Details
Besides the “magical island”, there is also a “secret cave” that can increase the enjoyment and fun feeling. This cave can be used to store Lego and toys. Some of the toys are also displayed on the Lego boards together with the family photos.
Furniture
The contemporary interior is created by adding some awesome furniture in this house. The blue round sofa looks like a ball pit or swimming pool in the “magical island”. The glass wall near it can create a light reflection, offering optical illusions in the house interior surface.
Design
There are some spaces below the “pond” that can be used to store the Lego or wine. The floor has a high surface with drawers for storage purposes, adding more design functionality. The floor height variation can encourage the new ways for the family members to interact with each other.
