NTR Headquarters: A Modern, Single-Story Office with A Green Space

NTR Headquarters 8

NTR becomes a building that makes up a “campus” together with RVU, NTR, VARA, VPRO, and Net3, some television companies of Dutch. NTR Headquarters is located in Hilversum, The Netherlands. This modern, single-story office is designed by MVRDV with a green space, providing a place to relax during lunch for the workers.

The building actually can be built with more floors but it feels that the ecological connection and visibility of the city will be destroyed, especially towards the Media Park. The location is chosen to make sure that the continuing “ecological link” goes well with the Hilversum Media Park.

This one-floor office is built like a shaft by digging it into the most top part of Hilversum Hill, make it visible to be seen from the city. The landscape can be seen clearly from the building. With the external ceiling, elevations, and Corten steel, the ceiling design becomes very interesting.

The roof is used as a public balcony with an awesome view of the Media Park and campus. This roof is also green, creating a green space for the office workers to enjoy the view of the landscape maximally at lunchtime.

NTR Headquarters has an interior which is divided into three zones with their own office typology. One zone is used as a communal area. The corridor zone is flanked with the individual offices with entrance patio and an open space with large glass windows.
