Prudential: A Sophisticated Office Environment Mixing Gibraltar’s Iconic Strength and San Francisco’s Urban Surrealism

RMW Architecture & Interiors designed a Prudential office based in San Francisco, California. The 31,978-square-foot workplace combines the office’s extraordinary values, brand, and history with a fresh perspective on the work environment.

The design itself was inspired by the landscape of San Francisco and Gibraltar both of which has the same unique environmental characteristics. In short, the San Francisco’s Prudential office conveys its story by merging San Francisco’s urban surrealism and Gibraltar’s iconic strength with panoramic views of the San Francisco Bay as an extra background.

Faceted forms, textured stone, fogged glass, and angular walls seen in the boardroom, meeting spaces, and break room offer a sense of boutique-like setting. The overall design of the office reflects the design team’s awareness on how the nature of contemporary workplaces has shifted rapidly to support the diverse environments for collaboration, social exchange, and focus.
