DSV: A New Modern Global Headquarters and Distribution Center in Denmark

This new modern global headquarters and distribution center belongs to DSV and designed by PLH. The site is located in Hedehusene, Copenhagen, Denmark and completed in 2014. The vision of “One company one DSV” has been transformed into an egalitarian and simple square-formed atrium building. All staff is equal in one room with more than 750 workspaces.

This new big center becomes a site host for some events and conference with the best facilities. It can provide more than 600 people with a large dining terrace, double-height canteen, and also some attractive outdoor areas for the visitor and staff.

 

Goal

The main goal of DSV workplace building design is providing user-friendly, calm, and also a healthy office environment. It will also create a good balance for the demand for logistic needs and transport services from the customers.

 

Details

This big project also incorporates some sustainable initiatives, including the LED lighting and solar panels on the roof. The facade design can be a climate screen that adjusts automatically for optimizing the lighting conditions and thermal comfort.

The atrium and stepped-up ceiling design offer a beautiful and natural light into the building. The front balcony fronts have some acoustic properties that can create a comfortable atmosphere. The ceilings, flooring, and core claddings provide more optimal attenuation of sound.

This office building has been listed on the Danish Association of Architectural Firms as an exemplary architecture part, Architecture Creates Values. The new design success to create a strong company working culture, increasing work efficiency, and also strengthened the branding and identity of the company.

The new modern global headquarters and distribution center has been awarded the Danish In-situ Concrete prize in 2015. This prize comes because of the demonstration from the concrete innovative use in the building.
