Bohlin Cywinski Jackson appointed SWA Group to deal with a landscape design for the Grand Central Creative Campus in Glendale, California. The 10.5-acre facility is a center for innovation and creativity housing office spaces, outdoor spaces, amenity, and parking area.
The Grand Central Creative Campus
The design for this landscape architecture project was centralized around a strong central pedestrian spine, framing the Verdugo mountains on the east side.
The Grand Central Creative Campus can be used as a space to connect people with a number of pedestrian streets.
It also acts as flexible outdoor rooms for meeting purposes and other group activities.
Inspiring Spaces
Considered as LEED Silver project, the Grand Central Creative Campus brings out the beauty of nature for the city dwellers. With that in mind, the firm utilized mostly drought-tolerant plants and fountains.
They also incorporated recycled water for irrigation into the design.
Sustainably harvested wood furnishings and reclaimed wood content are existed to accommodate inspiring spaces for creativity and innovation.
Enchanted Forest
As per Bohlin Cywinski Jackson, SWA used a Sycamore bosque to reveal the atmosphere of ‘Enchanted Forest’ of swaths of planting, winding paths, and a table that can be used for seating.
