Feast India Co. [FIC] or the Pink Zebra is another project handled by Renesa Architecture Design Interiors. Located in Kanpur [Cawnpore], India, the building is a take on the bygone British Culture in the city. The building was designed on a 4000-meter square area and completed in 2018. It was built as the reflection how important the city of Kanpur was to India’s British Corporation.
The Pink Zebra
The Pink Zebra reflects the quirkiness of Art Nouveau flair in the design.
The existence of this building is to showcase a contradictory and complex architecture according to the ambiguity and richness of old and modern experience inherent in art.
The main idea behind the construction was to establish a building that is hybrid, instead of pure, and compromising, instead of clean. It intends to amaze the visitors with the sea of artistic sea adorned the building.
Extreme Symmetry And Restricted Color Palettes
Based on the client’s fondness for Wes Anderson’s spatial ideology and fearful quirkiness, the firm incorporated extreme symmetry and restricted color palettes into the building.
With these, the building offers the expression of surreal and self-contained world with a certain bizarre element to spice up the monotony of Anderson’s spatial ideology.
That is why the firm used the black and white zebra lines that dip in the pink monotone set in the British Raj’s colonial order.
A Distinct Aesthetic Architectural Style
Renesa Architecture wanted to create a distinctive aesthetic architectural style with a striking color palette that reaches out to the city people.
The Pink Zebra, with its unique façade, will have an everlasting effect on the passerby, inviting them into a magical and expertly crafted world with framed spaces to look pleasant to the eyes.
