COORDINATION ASIA worked in collaboration with Nike to establish the NIKE+ RUN CLUB on Huaihai Road, Shanghai. The club displays an ethereal and out-of-this-world design, coming in a form of a pair of stealth hubs functioned as a pop-up gym outside Lane Crawford department store, right on the busy street of Shanghai’s Times Square. This club aims to provide extraordinary running experience for the people who want to start their workout regimen despite their hectic schedules.
The NIKE+ RUN CLUB
Despite its location, the NIKE+ RUN CLUB will take you away from the chaotic and busy street of the city.
With a hexagonal shape, the club offers a pod-like running terminals intended for treadmills.
The space is also adorned with LED strips light both on the ceiling and floor, increasing the adrenaline as the runners get ready for their workout session and attracting the passersby to participate and learn more about the club.
Running Experience
The club uses dynamic media surfaces across the kaleidoscopic exterior and interior, shielding the participants in a temple-like setting presented for an unusual running experience.
When they gear up and ready to run, their live performance stats will be displayed to them as well as on the hub exterior, grabbing the attention from the passersby.
Information Hub
An information hub is set to close by in a similar extraterrestrial design to provide a participant with the information they need to know about the NIKE+ RUN CLUB.
Through the hub, the participants can pre-register or sign up via online or in person, then it will check in those who want to take part.
More than a Community Workout Regime
From the design alone, it is obvious that the NIKE+ RUN CLUB offers more than a community workout regime.
It is more like a haven for those who are passionate about running, whether they are just beginners or seasoned pros.
In line with Nike brand values, COORDINATION ASIA and Nike were able to create a space where anyone can become athletes and talk can become actions.
