As an important landmark of Orange County in Garden Grove, California, Christ Cathedral Tower of Hope must be kept and maintained for a long haul. Originally designed by Richard Neutra in 1986, this 13-story building went through some renovation projects with the recent one was conducted by LPA Inc.
Christ Cathedral Tower of Hope
The design team of LPA Inc worked together with the Catholic Diocese of Orange to revitalize, restore, and extend the life of this building for the next 100 years.
Thus, in the project, the firm rehabilitated the tower’s essential component which is the building’s full-scale seismic retrofit design.
Maximized Functional Interior Space
Since the focus of rehabilitation is on seismic retrofit design, the firm’s architects and designers collaborated with the seismic engineers to make sure that the original architectural character of Tower of Hope was preserved.
They also wanted to maximize the building’s functional interior space.
