Results Announcement

A’ Design Award & Competition has announced the best designs of 2023 – 2024 in all design disciplines. This year, 1641 winners were selected from 114 countries across 151 different design disciplines. Each entry was meticulously evaluated by a prestigious jury panel comprising established scholars, prominent press members, creative design professionals, and experienced entrepreneurs.

The competition results are always announced every year on April 15.

For the 2024 – 2025 A’ Design Award & Competition, an impressive 278 jury members will form the International Design Academy – The Grand A’ Design Award Jury Panel. This esteemed panel consists of design professionals, press members, and academics.

The foundation of any reputable design award lies in its fair evaluation process, guided by a robust and expert jury. These jury members bring their invaluable knowledge and insights to the table, assessing submissions with a detailed and extensive methodology. The multidisciplinary nature of the jury ensures that entries are evaluated from diverse perspectives, benefiting participants through constructive feedback and suggestions.

Each jury member, recognized for their expertise and experience, adheres to a strict code of conduct and signs a jury agreement to maintain integrity. To prevent conflicts of interest, jurors are prohibited from being employees of participating companies.

Its layout overcomes challenging topography, featuring a facade that reflects traditional Korean ceramic craftsmanship. The carefully selected facade materials and the courtyard’s sinuous curvature, inspired by pottery’s form, embody the cultural essence of pottery. This design mirrors the pottery-making process, symbolizing the contraction between ceramic and glaze that creates unique specks on the pottery.

2. Almana Hospital by Muhammed El Sepaey

The building’s gentle curves of Almana Hospital facilitate a natural flow of space, air, and light, integrating advanced lighting and water treatment systems that significantly reduce energy consumption. The undulating landscape and building design creates a healing connection to nature, benefiting patients, staff, and visitors while emphasizing sustainability. This thoughtful design, which includes curved walkways and vertical elevators, not only guides visitors intuitively but also enhances patient well-being, reduces stress, and improves organizational productivity and staff satisfaction.

3. Ferdinand E Marcos Stadium Sports Facility by WTA Architecture and Design Studio

This project redefines the concept of a public stadium as a piece of social infrastructure open to all. Inspired by the open track of the old stadium and the Panathenaic stadium’s serene expansiveness, the design team envisioned a barrier-free space for Ferdinand E Marcos Stadium Sports. This vision promotes inclusivity, ensuring no one is barred based on attire or need for identification, and creating a community-bonding stadium and park for everyone.

4. Panoramic House by Eliza Schuchovski

Nestled in the Atlantic Forest and overlooking the sea, Panoramic House enhances family relationships and connects with nature while offering panoramic ocean views. A key feature is the dramatic triangular cantilevers, including a strategically positioned pool and the main suite, designed to optimize the unique terrain. Sustainability is a significant aspect, with energy-efficient solutions minimizing resource use, making this project both environmentally conscious and visually stunning.

5. Shenzhen Book Mall Bay Area Branch by Zhubo Design

Shenzhen Book Mall Bay Area Branch seamlessly blends urban dynamics with natural landscapes. Positioned between a subway station and several public buildings, the bookstore integrates public access and internal flow, creating a structure that merges with the city’s fabric. The circular volume rising from the park’s center and the rectangular volume across the street symbolize the “circle of heaven and earth” in Chinese culture. This project harmonizes architecture, city, and nature, encapsulating urban life within a natural setting.

6. 249 Design Hotel Hospitality Building by Alberto Torres

The 249 Design Hotel in Gramado is a thoughtful retrofit inspired by the German vernacular architecture prevalent in the region. Aiming to respect and integrate with the city’s unique character, the design blends contemporary elements with existing structures. This project utilizes materials to harmonize the new and old, creating a seamless architectural dialogue.

The man behind this incredible work is Alberto Torres from Torres Arquitetos.

7. Woyun Platform Public Building by Archermit

Pengzhou’s rich mountain water resources inspired the “three-dimensional landscape park city” concept within Chengdu’s “Park City” framework. The Wanyuntai design aims to encapsulate Pengzhou’s natural beauty, creating a harmonious blend of city and landscape.

Serving as the entrance exhibition center for the Giant Panda National Park, Woyun Platform incorporates local geological features: a “bamboo forest” at the ground level as a communal space for nearby villages, “mists” in the middle for cultural displays, and “glacier debris” at the top for leisure activities. This design allows visitors to experience Pengzhou’s natural charm in a compact space.

8. CC House Residential Single Dwelling by Muhammed Naseem M

Inspired by the site’s lush surroundings and dense vegetation, the design of CC House honors the family’s agricultural heritage, preserving the existing trees and plants they cultivated. The house’s minimalistic approach respects the natural ambiance, ensuring the site can be fully enjoyed.

The structure features two mirrored C-shapes centered around a focal tree, positioned at the meeting point of the walkway and the building. The dark building texture harmonizes with the environment, creating a cohesive and respectful integration of architecture and nature.

9. Chuxin Pavilion Community Service Center by Jian Wu

The designer is exploring innovative concepts for multifunctional community service centers, Chuxin Pavilion, tailored to the internet society’s needs. By analyzing factors such as the environment, current architecture, user demographics, and behavioral patterns, the designer aims to create adaptable spaces that address diverse user groups, activities, and functionalities.

The approach focuses on integrating physical and informational spaces to inspire new spatial configurations. The design team is also delving into “Internet architecture” patterns, incorporating the concept of “Xirang Spaces (Interstitial Soil Space),” which merges ancient Chinese spatial principles with modern technology to create dynamic and vibrant new environments.

10. Anji Creative Design Center Urban and Rural Area by Atelier Deshaus

Adapting to the undulating tea fields, this architectural project seamlessly extends the city’s orthogonal spatial system while embracing the natural terrain’s undulations. The design creates a harmonious blend of urban and rural elements, fostering sustainability by connecting public spaces with local agricultural production. Anji Creative Design Center introduces a versatile shared space that serves the local community and attracts urban visitors.

It is an incredible architectural project designed by Atelier Deshaus for Anjihood.

11. 210 Bloor Multi Residential House by Babak Eslahjou

Meeting the growing demand for boutique residential condominiums, 210 Bloor exemplifies an emerging urban typology seen in cities like New York and Vancouver. This 29-storey mixed-use building houses 42 residential units, 126m² of retail space, and three levels of below-grade parking.

Designed with one or two units per floor, it ensures a high level of privacy and autonomy akin to a house. The building’s east and west facades feature a striking mirrored glass triangular tessellated geometric pattern, extending to the property line. The mirrored hexagonal panels reflect light beautifully, creating a dynamic visual effect.

It is an ongoing work by Babak Eslahjou for Core Architects.

12. Kaizen Campus Office Building by Aspa Kst Ltd

The Kaizen Campus is designed to focus on aesthetics, environmental impact, and user experience. Its inner courtyard serves as the social and functional heart, featuring ramps, entrances, resting areas, and vertical circulation that ensures both connectivity and subdivision. The interconnected interior spaces on all three floors benefit from natural light and airflow. The facade design, characterized by vertical louvers, provides shading, and noise filtration, emphasizing the building’s elliptical shape.

It is an awesome architectural work of an office building by Aspa Kst Ltd, one of the largest architecture and design practices in Greece.

13. The Three Roof House by Masashi Nakamoto

The traditional Okinawan house addresses subtropical heat with long eaves that unfortunately darken interiors. To solve this, the roof of Three Roof House is divided into three parts, allowing natural light to enter and enhancing air circulation. This split roof design also ensures appropriate ceiling heights throughout the house, creating a dynamic living space. The eaves form a flexible area known as “Amahaji,” offering a comfortable, well-ventilated outdoor space protected from intense sunlight.

It is an amazing architectural work of a house by Masashi Nakamoto, a proactive architect based in Okinawa Prefecture, Japan.

14. Wooden Axis Large Roof Clinic and Pharmacy by Yoshiaki Tanaka

Three clients sought to build an internal medicine clinic, an orthopedics center, and a pharmacy on a single site, aiming for a cohesive design with a bright atmosphere. TSC Architects achieved this by using a “sunoko” wooden slatted design on the exterior of the Wooden Axis Large Roof to unify the buildings, while the interior features wooden shafts for added warmth.

The site, located along a major road slated for future expansion, is designed to stand out from typical commercial structures, offering a welcoming, wood-infused environment for patients.

15. Grand Tsuru Niseko Ski Villa by ABD Architecture LLC

Grand Tsuru, named after the crane in Japanese, embodies the elegance of Japanese culture and the beauty of nature. Located minutes from ski slopes, this development features three 250 m² properties designed with traditional Japanese timber framing, extended eaves, and natural wood louvers.

The striking verticality of metal cladding and tall windows enhances its sense of weightlessness. Inside, a central staircase connects all levels of the skip-floor property, which includes a spacious living area, two bedrooms, and a Japanese-style master bedroom, offering a serene retreat in Niseko’s snow haven.

It is an incredible work of a ski villa by ABD Architecture LLC, an architectural firm based in Sapporo, Japan.

16. Twenty Five Street Home Residential and Commercial Building by Daniel de Amorim

Inspired by Manhattan’s transformation of a deactivated train station into a suspended park, this project revitalizes underused areas to create a harmonious urban retreat. The design of Twenty Five Street Home emphasizes the integration of nature and urban living, featuring spaces that flow seamlessly like the High Line. It incorporates high acoustic insulation for privacy, abundant vegetation indoors and outdoors, and thematic common areas.

The building boasts a double-glazing structural system for unobstructed views, an armored busway for efficient energy use, a ventilated facade, and high-performance frames with floor-to-ceiling openings to blend the interior with the exterior, bringing the essence of the sea into the home.

17. Shijiazhuang Ander Memorial Park Cemetery Building by Youcai Pan

The Cloud Mirror service center for a cemetery reimagines traditional burial grounds by blending respect for Chinese cultural traditions with modern landscaping and artistry. It serves as a spiritual sanctuary, fostering a connection between the living and the deceased. This serene, personalized space emphasizes harmony and peace, creating a warm, ceremonial atmosphere that celebrates the symbiotic relationship between humans and nature.

Shijiazhuang Ander Memorial Park is an amazing architectural work by Youcai Pan for Archermit.

18. House Symbiosis Double Residency by Direction Architects

House Symbiosis draws inspiration from the yacht, aerospace, and automotive industries, embodying a sense of freedom and floating between sky and sea. Designed to accommodate two sibling families, it balances communal living with individual privacy. Located at the rear of a corner plot in an L shape, the design maximizes open space, covering only 27% of the 40% allowed. This eco-conscious approach provides ample communal areas and greenery, catering to contemporary living demands while fostering familial bonds.

19. Chongwen Langyue Exhibition Center by Qun Wen

Located on the east side of Zhengyang Avenue at a key intersection, this project aims to transcend the traditional sales office model by creating a vibrant urban public space that serves as a landmark for Jingyang’s future development. The design of Chongwen Langyue strategically rearranges functions and intersperses different blocks to meet diverse needs while maintaining a striking and visible form. This innovative idea not only attracts people but also establishes a new benchmark for the area, promoting a dynamic new way of life.

The man behind this incredible work is Qun Wen, a passionate architectural designer from China.

20. Serpentine House Residence by Potiropoulos and Partners

Situated in a promising South suburb of Athens, between the seacoast and the old airport, Serpentine House masterfully balances form and context. The design creates tension by narrowing and widening around an enclosed courtyard while maintaining a rigid perimeter that defines the site. Curved edges soften the building’s appearance, fostering a harmonious synergy between the courtyard and external scenery.

It is an awesome work of a residence by Potiropoulos and Partners, one of Greece’s foremost architectural firms.
