Located at the vibrant center of Moscow on Petrovsky Boulevard, sits a spacious 330 m² residence within a historic building. Originally two separate apartments, this expansive space now accommodates a family of five. The interior design vision was brought to life by Ariana Ahmad, the talented founder of her own design studio.

“The family possesses a refined aesthetic sense, setting the bar high for every aspect of their home, from the strategic layout and interior themes to the selection of furniture and decorative pieces. Their vision included four bedrooms and a generously sized living-dining area, fostering family togetherness. Additionally, their partial residence in Paris fueled a desire to infuse their Moscow home with the quintessence of French design,” said Ariana.

During the merging process of the apartments, Ariana crafted an elegant entrance hall complemented with a closet. The heart of the home is a spacious 70 m² common area seamlessly blending the living, dining, and kitchen spaces, a kitchen pantry, a master bedroom with a bathroom and wardrobe, three bedrooms for the children, a guest bedroom with a private bath, a home office, and a laundry area. The space’s architectural allure shines through with lofty 3.5-meter ceilings and charming arched windows, offering picturesque views of the cityscape.

At the core of the design concept lies a coherent scheme, embracing a monochromatic color palette enriched with graphic elements and vibrant accents. Consistency reigns supreme, from the walls and built-in units to the window ledges and radiators, all seamlessly unified in color. Drawing inspiration from the charm of Parisian aesthetics, elements like herringbone-patterned flooring, ornamental moldings, pristine white hues, authentic marble, and vintage tapestries, envelop the space in an air of nobility.

Ariana handpicked furniture pieces that seamlessly blend utility with artistic flair. The striking LC4 chaise longue by Le Corbusier takes center stage in the living space, perfectly paired with the functional yet stylish rotating chairs by Patricia Urquiola for the dining table. Injecting a subtle burst of color, De Padova chairs in ochre-beige leather add a solitary pop of color against the subdued backdrop, while a cozy Piet Boon sofa and a Bonaldo chair in fabric introduce a gentle contrast to the predominant leather elements.

Every lighting fixture was chosen carefully, showcasing distinctive creations from the talented duo, Jeremy Anderson and Gabriel Hendifar from Apparatus studio. Their imaginative and evocative designs grace every corner of the apartment, with particularly striking pieces adding allure to the dining space.

“The interplay of bold decorative elements and the architectural backdrop creates a dynamic visual narrative, embodying the essence of this interior,” concludes architect and interior designer Ariana Ahmad.
