Apartment in Astana: The Coziness and Authenticity of the Interior

Apartment In Astana 20

Located in the Highvill Residential Complex, Apartment in Astana is a residential project designed by Kvadrat Architects. It is a perfect place to enjoy a breathtaking view of the Alpine mountains or a green forest. The atmosphere of coziness and relaxation inside this apartment is emphasized by natural textures, typical of country interiors.

The texture of aged wood on the floor, rusted metal, wood, and lava stone on the walls. The sofa upholstery is rough and tactile pleasant burlap. The island sofa is used by the family to chatter and rest, allowing them to slow down and gather together but each of them is still able to do their own interest: watch a movie or meditatively watch the fire.

Uniqueness and variety of materials inspired by the nature of Georgia. It is a country with ancient history and culture which the design team visited on the eve of the project. Caves, mountain gorges, and majestic landscapes of this country are imbued in the space of the apartment.

Kitchen-Dining Room

The gray wood shade, raw tanned leather, and wooden blinds in the kitchen-dining room support the whole atmosphere of the apartment’s entire space. The house’s owner loves to prepare delicious breakfasts for the whole family, and in the evening, above the table “lights up” the starry sky. After dinner or conversations, the family can admire the “constellations” that they don’t always notice in the hustle and bustle of a noisy city.

The Owner’s Private Space

The owners’ private space is wrapped by the deep shades of the interior, creating a feeling of infinite comfort. This 70 m2 space invites everyone to come and relax. It is a bedroom with a separate study, a spacious dressing room, and a bathroom with shower and bath.

The architecture of this owner’s private space is done specially. The bedroom is divided into a sleeping and working area where each of them has a separate window. The study is separated by a construction, which is installed in the center. As a result, there is access to the work table and storage systems from both sides, keeping the sense of space and unity of the interior.

The zoning construction of this apartment is highly functional. There is a built-in storage system hidden by the blank veneer fronts. All the clothes and accessories are under glass in the dressing room for maximum visibility and ease of creating images.

Once you through the dressing room, a luxurious bathroom welcomes you. This bathroom has an elongated irregular shape just like the dressing room. It is divided into two zones like the bedroom: a shower and isolated vanity on the right while a large full-length wide countertop with two sinks, and a tub on the left. The bathtub and sink here are at the same height, achieved by placing a podium in the recessed bath access area. Dark, deep colors also dominate here, emphasizing the coziness and authenticity of the interior.
