What is A’ Design Awards & Competition?

A’ Design Awards & Competition was born to underline good designs that deserve great recognition and international awareness. It is an international, juried design competition that helps designers around the world advertise, publicize, and promote their designs. All award-winning products and designs are highlighted to the international public via the A’ Design Award Gala Night and Exhibition in Italy.

Benefits of Winning the Awards

A’ Design Award & Competition provides all winners of the competition with a comprehensive and extensive winners’ kit called A’ Design Prize. There are lots of benefits included in this kit and below are ten of them:

1. Gala-Night Invitation

A’ Design Award will invite all winners to Gala-Night to celebrate the competition results. Gala-Night is a very special black-tie event that also gives them networking opportunities and media coverage with press members and industry leads worldwide.

2. A’ Design Award Trophy

All award-winning designers and jury members who attend the Gala-Night and award ceremony will get an A’ Design Award Trophy. It is a unique trophy realized by 3D metal printing so it cannot be manufactured with any of the traditional methods.

3. Annual Yearbook

An annual yearbook of A’ Design Award and Competition called A’ Design Award Yearbook of Best Designs also will be given to all winners during the Gala-Night. The digital version of this yearbook is also available for download for all winners, free of charge.

4. Exhibition

A’ Design Award also will hold a design exhibition for the winners to introduce and promote their good designs to the world physically. This exhibition is held at the MOOD – Museum of Outstanding Design and this location changes each year.

5. World Design Rankings Inclusion

Managed by A’ Design Award, World Design Rankings ranks all countries that participate in the competition based on the number of designers that have been granted the award. The results of the rank are displayed by the participants’ aggregated scores.

6. Exclusive Interview

A’ Design Award will feature the exclusive interview of all winners in four publications: Design Interviews, Design Legends, Magnificent Designers, and Legendary Designers. The aim of these publications is to good designs and great designers to global audiences.

7. Winners’ Certificate

Participants of A’ Design Award and Competition will receive various certificates in several formats. For the winners, there are two important certificates given to them: a certificate for winning the award and a certificate for physical exhibition participation.

8. Translations Service

A’ Design Award also provides a translation platform that supports 186 languages. This platform translates a summary of the A’ Design Awards’ Award-Winning Works and a result of feedback received by international publishers.

9. Marketing and Consultancy

Marketing and consultancy services are provided by A’ Design Award through DesignMediators and DesignPRWire for all winners. These services help them to make agreements and design contracts. The consultancy for marketing the award-winning designers is free of charge.

10. Promoted to Media Partners

A’ Design Award and Competition also collaborates with the press, publications, leading media, channels, and journals worldwide to publicize the latest news on the designs. The aim is to promote the competition and highlight the winners and their awesome award-winning designs.

How Entries are Judged?

A’ Design Awards & Competition is one of the world’s largest and most influential design awards with a strong and expert international jury panel consisting of academics, design professionals, and press members.

All entries are judged by a blind peer-review process. In this competition, the voting is anonymous. The jurors vote for the designs and not for the names of the designers to ensure a fair voting process.

This awesome project is addressed to wine lovers. The Collector Wine Cellar and a pivot door can be found in a 3-floor house in Brunn am Gebirge, Austria. Drawing everyone’s attention, this wine cellar is handmade, combining burnished steel frames with partially colored insulating glass. With special temperature control, the walk-in room provides enough space for cooling, storing, and collecting wine.

The designer behind this brilliant project is Zsolt Szalai, a professional designer from Austria.

Youoy Floor Tile is a unique and stylish floor tile for your house. It has Chinese character strokes deconstructed in a contemporary method on its surface that highlights unique cultural symbols. With semicircular abstraction as the sun and moon and triangle abstraction as mountains and rivers, its design expresses the artistic conception of mountain life of ancient literati and scholars.

This unique floor tile was designed by Yi Zhang for Anhui Yosemite New Material Technology Co., Ltd, a manufacturing enterprise integrating R&D, manufacturing, and export of green polymer building materials.

Designed as a sculptural object, Equilibrio Sculptural Sink is artistic and functional. This sink relies on the contrast between the countertop’s delicate inclination and its robust volume. It is created by a diagonal section and a slight tilt of the upper portion of the piece. The best thing about this sink is it can be produced in different sizes.

This awesome bathroom furniture is designed by Thiago Mondini, a young Brazilian architect who works mainly with highly personalized interior design projects.

Located in Changsha, China, the urban forest is the main theme of City Gather Forest Themed Park. This project focuses on the harmony of natural ecology and urban life. It is an urban park scenario where art and nature coexist. There is also a vibrant public activity gathering place that links the interaction between the city, community, and people organically.

Completed in January 2021, this project was designed by Siyuan Tao, the founder of Dean Design.

It is an ongoing project of transit-oriented development in the east that is economically balanced with large open space in the west. This project holds lasting appeal for locals and entrepreneurs and breathes new life into the region.

The man behind this amazing urban planning project is Ning Zhang, a professional designer from China.

Located in a truly unique environment in Russia, Lagonaki Mountain Eco Resort Master Plan is an urban planning project with the goal of ensuring the preservation of the natural diversity of its surrounding incredible landscapes. It provides for the creation of tourist routes that exclude unauthorized access to protected natural areas while the buildings are equipped with resource-saving equipment.

Started in November 2021 and will be finished in Q4 2024, this awesome project is designed by Dina Dridze for Rtda.

Artisan Echoes Culture Street is an urban planning project based on the needs of both tourists visiting the Purple Pottery Industrial Park and nearby residents. The design aims of this project are to refine the local architectural style, respect the original topography of the plateau, and create a unique Chinese architectural style by incorporating buildings in a scattered layout that blends in with the plateau landscape.

The man behind this amazing urban planning project is Hang Chen. He is a national registered urban and rural planner, landscape engineer, and outstanding interior designer from China.

Huzhou Science Valley Homm Hotel Lighting Design is a lighting design project of China’s first hong ju brand hotel. It is a resort away from the noise that is located in Wuxing District, Huzhou City, Zhejiang Province, on the West Tiaoxi River. With rolling wood carvings, tea-shaped glass, and bamboo wall panels, every part of the hotel is a microcosm of local culture.

It is an amazing lighting design project by Alex Xu who has over 13 years of experience in lighting design specializing in indoor and outdoor lighting design of international brand hotel buildings/large urban complex buildings.

The lighting of the entire hotel’s indoor and outdoor spaces in Shangri-la Shougang Park uses LED light sources and the lighting scene changes with time. The designer uses warm color temperature lighting to create a comfortable light environment for the hotel space. Small flood lights are added at the grille on the first floor so the audience can feel the dancing form of migratory birds no matter where they are.

This wonderful lighting design project was designed by Haiyan Zhu, a professional designer from China.

Designed as a home cabinet product, Su Series System Furniture takes the defining characteristics of Chinese aesthetics and combines them with a more contemporary feel. It provides a solution to the practical problems that arise when integrating door and wall cabinets within a house. The sophistication and connotation of the original wood color present a warm appearance and highlight the contemporary simplicity of Chinese style.

This furniture design project is designed by Wang Lu for Yuan Tu Creativity.
