Located in Fukuyama City, Hiroshima Prefecture, Enjoying Nature in the Middle of the City is a 2012 residential project by Souken Home. There are three points proposed by Mr. and Mrs. S as the house owners: opening the inside by binding the outside, letting the breeze and light pass through the house, and being able to feel nature even in the middle of the city.
It is a one-story house with a courtyard placed in the center. This way allows the couple to feel the greenery and light from every room of the house. The exterior has a simple and stylish appearance with its two-tone color. The open LDK (Living, Dining, Kitchen) is adjacent to the Japanese-style room and courtyard. The sloping ceiling in the LDK is the point that brings a sense of openness.
In this house, the use of lighting and air conditioning can be minimum as much as possible. The couple loves reading so a downlight switch is installed at each bedside so they can read before going to bed. The bedroom is completed with a flip-up bed where there is storage under it.
