Designed by Andramatin, AW Residence is a large house located in Indonesia. It sits on a bust intersection in a neighborhood and is surrounded by a lot of tall trees. The most interesting about this house is it is made out of black-painted bricks.
Design
This large house is defined as an element of the landscape that rises from the ground. The goal of using black-painted bricks is to define the house’s voluminous mass. These bricks also highlight the house awesomely, capturing everyone’s attention.
Materials
The whole covering of the bricks has two important roles: a screen to direct sunlight and a sound barrier from the nearby streets.
There is also a semi-basement floor in this house. This basement is used for the service area. The public area on the ground floor consists of a living room, a kitchen, and a dining room. The expansive glass walls on the ground floor allow one to enjoy the outside view easily from the inside.
