With our 2020 focused on battling the COVID-19 pandemic, environmental concerns are now at the bottom of our priority lists. This crisis has disrupted so many aspects of people’s lives and industries, including the construction industry.
Located on the site of Tour and Taxis in Belgium, Herman Teirlinck Building houses the Flemish Government. It is a multifunctional building designed by Neutelings Riedijk Architects in collaboration with CONIX RDBM Architects. This building has awesome common functions that connected via a covered interior street.
These five ‘sphinxes’ are apartment buildings designed by Neutelings Riedijk Architects and completed in 2004. Lakeshore Housing The Sphinxes is an awesome project that consists of 65 apartments in 5 buildings on the water. The result of this project is apartments with maximizing unobstructed views and a sphinx-like profile.
Located on the Uithof University Campus, Minnaert Building comprises three main elements. These elements are a restaurant, classrooms and laboratories, and a workspace for three departments. Completed in 1997 by Neutelings Riedijk Architects, this 9000 m2 building is nominated for the Rietveld Award.
This project focuses on the development and continuation of the previous year’s URBANBuild project. UB15 is a single level infill prototype that produces dense urban multifamily options with duplex, triplex, or extended multifamily assemblies. This prototype is designed with a flexible floorplan and generous volume.
It is a secondary education project completed by Jeanne Dekkers Architectuur in 2006. OSG Piter Jelles Leeuwarden is 6.425 m2 in size, a ‘double school’ located in the green zone of a North Leeuwarden district. The building has brick facade segments are horizontal markedly while the wooden paneling is lineated inside the building.

Atelier Starzak Strebicki and team has been completed an apartment refurbishment project in Poznań, Poland. Apartment Jacko II is a 55 m2 modernized flat located in the low-rise buildings from the ’50s, a result of joining together two premises. This project is started in 2017 and completed in 2020 with a quite long and shallow new space as the result and accompanied by six windows.
There’s nothing more disappointing than spending some time in your swimming pool to find traces of greasy and dirty substances. This may be due to chemicals and other cleaning agents that may have been previously used to keep it clean.
Designed by Ingenhoven Architects and partner, Stadtsparkasse Düsseldorf is transformed into a new type of real estate. Won the first prize in an international competition in 1997, this building is stripped down and the structure is changed. It also designed with a free-standing glass screen that offers an unfettered view.
