Futurist Architecture

This apartment has awesome details for its interior. The details are precisely and concerned thoroughly manufactured. The wall panels, cabinets, and shelves are attached by the 29000 separated wooden pieces. This attachment is done in a traditional joinery method by 3 craftsmen that take more than 700 hours, creating a homogeneous area as an Installation artwork.

The whole design for this house is taken by the mid modern century style in the tropical country of Thailand. The tropical wood elements go well with the simple wall paint. The design also focuses on the lifestyle rather than the beauty look. The same sentence as Mies Van de Rohe ‘form follow funtion’ is simply naturally charming the house living spaces in addition.

The three levels are connected by the open stairs to a large roof deck that additional open space for the clients. It also can provide a thermal chimney effect to minimize the mechanical cooling need. With the materials, design, and all elements, a comfortable feeling can be created for the client while living in this house.

The materials for this house are chosen carefully to provide variety and texture, giving each room and element of the house its identity. These materials are used in particular with the selection of the joinery finishes, wall tiles, and flooring. The result comes in a beautiful, sleek, and elegant look for the entire house.

It is a kind of budget-conscious residence with a focus on the quality of space and the spend on luxuries. Both the spend on luxuries and space quality are the clients most wanted. A communal indoor/ outdoor living area with a northern aspect and the wooden stairs in front of the front door become the appeals of the house design.

The architect also added some new minimalist details to this house to create a decorative look. The details are also combined with crafted elements such as a tapered reclaimed post. This element can bring a quiet, warm aesthetic sense to the unusual spaces of the house and connecting those spaces into one.

This project is a true invitation in harmony with nature and its all elements to experience luxury in the mountains area.

The loft interior has plywood panels to give the space a unique and different character that contrasts with the light colors of the entire home. The clients also can control the degree of the room opening with the removable panels. Inside, a small bed is placed to complete the comfortable feeling in this warm space.

In order to simplify the dwelling, the humble embellishments of the original structure can offer a new grandeur look with the gentle sandstone arches and a hipped roof. The language of crafted timber can connect this project to the next and across the passage of time from one level.

McGILL 38 is a residential winner project that has won two design awards. With the design, modern spaces, and comfortable atmosphere, this project won the Design Excellence Award 2018 from IDA and the Fantini Design Award 2018. It also appears in the January 2019 edition of Azure Magazine.
