This bungalow has a high ceiling which is perfect for the air circulation, creating fresh air inside the house. The large windows are also designed to allow the natural sunlight comes into the house interior, providing a warm atmosphere during the days. These windows also give beautiful views that can be seen from the kitchen and living area.

From the entrance area, Balmain Pair looks like a truly private house with its high brick front wall. The glass sliding doors allow the warm sunlight to come freely into the house interior. And when night comes, the interior lighting on the upper level can be seen clearly from the outside, creating a beautiful view for everyone who sees it.

The facades of the opposing courtyard look like mirrored reflections of one another and playful mimes that framing the outdoor room. The landscape-like feel comes from the Uluru-red brickwork as if making the traditional Victorian formalities is eroded and reveal the structure of the original buildings. This brickwork plays an important role in creating a decorative look to the Glebe Red.

During the day, Highlands Escape and its unique pavilion are warmed by the natural sunlight. It creates a perfect place to stay in summer. And when night comes, the beautiful silhouette of the building and pavilion design can invite everyone who sees it. The design concept turns perfectly and fits well for the owner needs and can give a great aesthetic pleasure too.

The interior of the Brightwood Cabin is warm with the wood materials, especially in the main kitchen, dining, and living space. The awesome views of the forest can be seen clearly through the glass wall. The ceiling is full of glulam beams with a double-sided, board-formed concrete fireplace that separates the public and private space. The cabin modern private portion consists of two bedrooms, a master suite, and also a bath.

Rick Berry, the residential designer, and his team won several national and local awards for the design of Hotchkiss Residence. The awards are given because of their achievements in creating a contemporary design with advanced green design strategies and interior design excellence to provide a comfortable living place.

With the “U” shaped plan, this contemporary home has large volumes that can be found on both sides. The glass two-story entry space is located in the middle of the sides, adding an elegant style to this house. There is also a long bridge leads from the sidewalk to the main entrance of the house with a bamboo forest below. The exterior comes in a black stained siding just like a charred wood or a “shosugi ban”. It pays homage to the family Japanese ancestry.

As a contemporary house, Hood River Residence is dominated with wood materials. For its ceilings, a lot of big beams are used to expose the ceilings more clearly. The frame of the glass wall is also made from the wood, creating a good balance with the wooden cabinet and wooden furniture in the kitchen and dining area. The concrete floor turns into a warm floor with the patterned rug on the living area.

The architect uses a lot of different materials to meet every room needs for the family. In the play area, rock climbing has been created to make the children more active even when they are inside the house. In the bathroom, the combination of glass on the bathroom door with a wooden floor can create an elegant look. The curved sculptural rail and the stair are dominated with wood materials.
