Villas at Emirates Hills: A Fusion of Traditional Arabic Details and Contemporary Architecture

Located in Dubai with 500-840 m² in size per villa, Villas at Emirates Hills is an awesome project of a group of twenty villas. These villas demonstrate a fusion of traditional Arabic details and contemporary architecture. A generic villa type is designed and developed, resulting in an interesting range of individual houses. This project is completed in 2003 by Hopkins Architects for Emaar with Frayland Construction as the client.

Arc House: A Single-Family House with Unique Arch and Flat-Roofed Section

It is a single-family house that detached in a unique form. The ground floor of Arch House is 3,600 SF in size while the lower level is 3,600 SF in size. This house is located in Hamptons, New York, designed by MB Architecture with a unique arch that contains some rooms in an open plan. There is also a flat-roofed section that houses the bedrooms of the client.

LEJRVEJ: A Single-Family House with Tactile Material Scheme and Extraordinary View

This single-family house is located in a rural suburb north of Copenhagen on the slope of a closed-down airbase with an extraordinary view. LEJRVEJ is a 2016 project by Valbæk Brørup Arkitekter, designed to emphasize the view and making it as a mediator between two different landscapes. With 169 sqm in size, this house is built with a tactile and honest material scheme.

With 3,200 ft2 in size, this second home is owned by two brothers and it serves as a resting place and meeting space for their families. The house’s sober and daring architecture blends well with the surrounding green site.
