Futurist Architecture

The architect uses resilient and robust materials like a coastal site. The house has rugged and raw tones and textures, creating a beautiful look as they age. The skillion comes in a radially-sawn Silvertop Ash form that can grey over time. This house is also designed with felled timber to celebrate the rough grain and minimize wastage.

The landscape and architecture are merged, creating an engaging and playful space which is spiritual and also calming. Most of the buildings are prefabricated, allowing the period of construction to be shorter. The design develops as a system for the building that can be used on some sites such as flood plains, coastal areas, and lakes.

In this house, the daylight can be brought into the basement area by inserting the patio of the left area. It makes some living spaces can be accommodated too inside the ‘living’ cellar of the house. The resident also can have direct access to the garden and terrace from the patio through the outside staircase.

This home is also designed with a combination of cooling strategies and passive heating when the season changes. The architect uses high-efficiency glazing too with controls and equipment, including recycled and harvested sustainably materials. The result makes this house friendly for the environment around it.

Besides designing a place to house all art collection of the owner, this project is also about creating an open and comfortable family space. This space is also designed with a good connection to the outdoor area of the house and the spacious outdoor deck. The same concrete material is also used to design the floor part of the deck, including the outdoor staircase.

There is deep penetration in Dawesville House of warming winter sun the space of main living room inside. After the completed project, today this modern farmhouse has sustainable features that consist of hot water made from a solar hot water system, a water saving, passive design with good ventilation, active heating with wood fireplace, active cooling with Hunter Pacific Concept ceiling fans, and also bright green lighting.

For energy efficiency, the large areas from low emissivity glass are limited by the sized horizontal shades for making sure that the winter sun can penetrate onto the charcoal pigmented floor. The louvered ventilation slots are combined with the larger sliding doors to exhaust any build-up of hot air in summer.

The architect from Adriano Pupilli Architects needs to work with south facing semi of the house located on a tight site. This house also has many overlooking properties at its rear side. It also needs to find a room form that can minimize the overshadowing that comes from the backyard and neighbors too around the house.
