The concrete floor turns into a warm floor with the patterned rug on the living area.

The architect uses a lot of different materials to meet every room needs for the family. In the play area, rock climbing has been created to make the children more active even when they are inside the house. In the bathroom, the combination of glass on the bathroom door with a wooden floor can create an elegant look. The curved sculptural rail and the stair are dominated with wood materials.

The aluminum skin of The Wave House is orchestrated well. It also emulates the nature’s own eloquent geometry beauty. The painted aluminum appears like a massive undulating facade that flows on the two stories of the house then arrives on the ground floor. The 300 custom and unique cut aluminum pieces are organized to create a massive architectural movement.

Cabbagetown Residence: A Contemporary Addition and Renovation of A 120-Year Old Home

The new design for Cabbagetown Residence is made by eliminating the corridors then combine it with a vertical spin for the circulation. This way makes the rooms feel larger and connected to each other. The open plan is also used to connect the various rooms and keep providing a division which is soft between the spaces through the built-in elements, partial walls, and floor heights.

Contrast House: A Redesign of Narrow 125-Year-Old Residence with Spatial and Perceptual Means

A lot of passive sustainable systems are used to minimize the environmental impact of the house. The layout is also reconfigured with the open riser stair and new operable windows that can maximize the natural daylighting and ventilation. With the integrated roof deck, a green roof can absorb the rainwater on a rainy day and also create a cooling effect on the upper floors.

Through House: A Complete Overhaul of A Narrow 130-Year-Old Residence for Modern Living

The deck and horizontal whitened wood fence beautify the house back garden which is also defined by some planters. The planters consist of Japanese maple trees, colorful grasses, and fragrant lavender arranged to make separated rooms feeling within the larger whole of the house. The result of this exterior design is an intimate outdoor courtyard that can change in each season.

The architect works with the existing footprint of the century-old fully detached house for this project. There are only two side exterior walls are retained from the original building. Based on the form of the house neighbors and also traditional domestic scale, this house has a graphic and fresh interpretation of a traditional pitched roof complete with the clean elevation.
