Completed in 2011 by SAOTA Architecture and Design, La Lucia is a residential project located in Durban, South Africa. It is a delicate seaside retreat that sits on the water’s edge, designed with sliding screen panels to allow the house to cocoon itself. The architect works with ARRCC for its modern interiors.
Design
Besides the sliding screen panels to provide privacy inside this house, this project also includes the design of indoor-outdoor living that consists of a protected garden and garden courtyards. With these outdoor livings, there are no clear boundaries between the house and its exterior.
Interiors
These house spaces are designed in modern styles and dominated by the use of wood elements. Through the sliding screen panels, the stunning views outside can be seen easily from the inside. The warm and romantic atmosphere of the interiors is supported by the best arrangement of the interior lighting.
