Villa Amsterdam: A New Design for A Refined and Generous House

A 1000 m2 big notary house is being rebuilt in the south of the district of Amsterdam by a family that making their dream house. Started in 2012 and completed in 2016 by HofmanDujardin, Villa Amsterdam is transformed into a refined and generous house with its new awesome design.

Design

The new design for this house is related to the former notary house’s shape. This villa offers a large kitchen, living, and also dining on its ground floor. There is also a subtle balance between transparency and privacy in all family spaces in this villa. These spaces also have an awesome relationship with the garden that will be designed by Piet Oudolf.

Rooms

A luscious bright space can be created by transforming the basement. This space comes with outdoor patios that sit at the end of the playing room and swimming pool. The warm natural sunlight transforms this basement too into a fully exciting and usable place to be.

The study is placed in the double high void in the bedrooms of children on the in-between floor with private bathrooms on the first floor of the building. The top floor is designed for an awesome master bedroom with stunning views over Amsterdam.

Materials

This house is not only generous but also refined in the detailing and materialization. There is also a beautiful colored brick that combined with large transparent openings and natural wood while the refined brickwork related to the antique local historic architecture.
