With 775 SF / 72 m² in size, SABO designs this Paris apartment for a young fashion designer that looking to maximize her space in it. Hike is a residential project located in Montmartre, Paris with several partition removals as a part of the design. The design for this project also includes a multi-function thick wall and porous furniture to get more natural lights.
Design
Besides the partition removals, the design for this Paris apartment also includes the insertion of a multi-function thick wall that acts as fabric storage, closet, display, office, stair, natural and artificial light source or sliding partitioning. This wall is also a strategic way of the architect in order to maximize each space in this Paris apartment.
Furniture
Natural light can reach a central corridor of the apartment easily through the porous furniture. This furniture also can frame the stunning views between the living room and the new bedroom. The surrounding hills and climbing culture of Montmartre are celebrated with the swaying steps of an alternate tread stair.
There is a mini vertical garden in the kitchen that provides fresh aromatic herbs thanks to a mix of specialized artificial lighting and direct sun exposure. A custom integrated drainer and a steel countertop are welded to stretch over 15 feet while the whimsy floor consists of 25 natural rubber strips in 14 different colors.
