Panta Rhei: A Public High School with Contemporary Interior and the Flow of Learning Concept

The meaning of Panta Rhei is ‘Everything Flows. This public high school tries to give their students the best learning experience ever, not only in the classroom but also even when the students are relaxed. Together with poet Erik Jan Harmens, i29 Interior Architects creates a contemporary interior with the flow of learning in Panta Rhei building.

Interior

The interesting thing about this public school contemporary interior is the poems. Panta Rhei students work with the poet to write those poems on friendship and insecurity themes. The interior surface is all-white with a combination of a concrete wall.

Details

The interior design in Panta Rhei has a lot of details. Besides the poems on the wall and carpets, there are also intriguing graphic patterns. The details come from the informal furniture too such as asymmetrical tables. Those tables are mobile and dynamic, allowing the students to work in individually or groups.

Colors

According to The Great Indoors Award jury, Panta Rhei has a whimsical setting, especially on its color-coded islands. Those colors can create an ordinary interior surely for the unemployed. The colors also separate the spaces well, adding a humane design concept without placing the people in boxes.
