ROC Mondriaan appointed Fokkema & Partners to renovate its new Hospital Campus in Den Haag. The project began in October 2013 and finished in March 2016. According to the Mayor of Den Haag, Van Aartsen, the Hospitality Campus ROC Mondriaan is an asset to the city and for education in Den Haag. Since its opening, the campus has cooperated with the city and local businesses by providing its facilities for meetings and events.
Through the renovation project, Fokkema & Partners offers a fully equipped and bright learning environment for the students. The campus also becomes the perfect place to practice their skills. Inside the building, there are several restaurant ‘pockets’ organized around a grand café in the central atrium.
These pockets come with different hospitality concepts with their respective unique styles. The pockets also offer views of the student activity in the preparation kitchens. To accentuate the view into the depot of the existing grand café, the firm incorporated a new canopy over the entrance.
