Wintec Engineering and Trades Facility is a facility that leads the way for change in learning and training both nationally and internationally. Developed by Chow:Hill, the facility welcomed the final student groups in October 2014 to complete a multi-disciplinary learning cohort. Wintec is located at the heart of their Rotokauri Campus in Hamilton, New Zealand.
In light of the development, the design was inspired by a collaborative, project-based, and real-world learning philosophy. This design concept was adopted to create contemporary spaces that are flexible and vibrant for students and staff alike. Since the collaboration acts as a key driver behind the new learning environment, Chow:Hill, Wintec, and the wider design team considered it as a crucial component of the design process and will determine a successful outcome for a total learning environment.
