SWA Group was appointed by Anhui Raycom Real Estate Development Co., Ltd. to handle landscape project for Raysom City. Located in Anhui, China, the project comprised 3 phases; phase 1:10 hectares; phase 2:6 hectares, and phase 3: 4 hectares. Through this project, SWA aimed to reflect the life in an urban waterside setting in a form of public park and retail promenade.
The Raysom City Project
The Raysom City is a one-kilometer-long public park and retail promenade developed based on Hefei’s ancient river city identity and waterside parks.
It includes a string of five special places, such as the Triangle Park, the Ribbon Park, the Crescent Park, the Source Fountain Plaza, and the Children’s Playground.
These special places are linked by rain gardens, two-lane Green Street, continuous paths and social spaces, and groves of large canopy trees.
Sculpture for Living
The verdant district was thoroughly crafted as a ‘Sculpture for Living’ in order to celebrate a new lifestyle along the existing corridor.
The district equates the environmental health of the physical space to the physical and mental ease of its inhabitants.
The firm also integrated the stormwater management seamlessly into the park and street design.
Attractive Setting
To make living and walking in the district attractive, two subsequent high-rise residential phases were designed and orchestrated for the city dwellers.
Access to the subway and bus system as well as provision for electric scooter and bicycle have been given the same convenience to car use for moving throughout the metro region.
