A three-bedroom apartment with a kitchen island in Moscow is an awesome interior design project by Alexander Tischler. The clients of this project are a young family that has one child. Planning to have a second child, they asked the architect to design two separate bedrooms for their kids.
The request of the clients is a master bedroom and a dressing room, three bathrooms (one master bathroom, one for children, and one for guests), a laundry room, and enough storage for household appliances and utensils. This request also includes a spacious open-plan living room suitable for hosting friends.
This project is developed from the beginning by the design team of Alexander Tischler. All deliveries and finishing works are supervised, and the cabinet furniture is designed and produced specially for this apartment.
Kitchen
The living room and kitchen are combined to create a spacious multipurpose great room. The cooking area is fitted with a marble island, creating a monumental monolith look with a zephyrous tabletop.
Rex large-format porcelain stoneware is the main material used to design the kitchen worktop, backsplash, and island. The clients can store things in the lower drawers in the column cupboards and inside the island.
There is additional lighting in a small niche above the work surface while Foscarini solid wood lamps are hung above the island. A hob with a built-in extractor hood makes the kitchen wall looks like a flat panel.
Spaces
The living room has a large wall that is beautified with bichromatic Italon ceramic tiles composing a panel with accent lighting. A shelf for a speaker and a hanging cabinet with drawers can be found under the TV. Two speakers are attached to the ceiling and the other two stand by the TV, all of them are directed to the sofa.
The interior of this apartment is accented aesthetically by the bookcase. It has dark elements of different widths and textures, combined with a backdrop of the same porcelain stoneware as in the kitchen. This bookcase brings lots of dynamics into the apartment’s room.
Bedrooms
The same wall panels in the open-plan living room can be found in the bedroom, added with elements of a bronze matte mirror. The same design is used to create the bedside tables. The windowsill that separates the balcony and bedroom is removed and replaced with a sash window.
A bathroom and walk-in wardrobe in the master bedroom is a transformation from a narrow corridor. The clients can store their shirts and trousers in the open storage in the dressing room that has some rails. In this dressing room, there is also a shelving unit with drawers for accessories and a wardrobe with glass fronts for long clothes.
The dressing room offers an additional function as a buffer zone between the private and public areas.
Details
The master bathroom has some convenient items such as a cabinet with a laundry basket, a mirror with built-in lighting, and also a small bench in the shower room.
For the kid’s room, the design team keeps it neutral and adds some magnetic track lights. These lights can be rearranged easily and used at the necessary place inside the apartment. For the dressing room of the children, the storage systems consist of rails, drawers, and shelves.
A mirror is put in a niche for shower accessories in the children’s bathroom while the laundry basket is hidden behind the cabinet’s folding facade.
There is no remake from the guest bathroom into a dressing room as the clients’ requested. On both sides of the hallway, there is a large wardrobe with access hatches to the electrical and low-voltage shields on the left while cabinets with glass facades for shoes and bags on the right.
A full-fledged amenities space in the laundry room consists of washing and drying machines, water filters, and a water heater. Appropriately sized furniture is designed for this room with enough space for suitcases. vacuum cleaners. and stroller. One also can find a room for ironing clothes there.
